We will soon be scheduled to give our first Persuasion speeches.
Here are some tips for persuasive speech:
1.Keep your topic clearly an issue that has two sides; then take one side or the other as your thesis sentence/ Central Idea.
2. That Central Idea should also map out your three main points briefly so we know where you are going.
3. Use one of the three persuasion outlines mentioned in your book and class lecture. (Or the other Weblog chapter reading from Ferguson.)
4. Remember an outstanding Attention-Getter in Intro and a Memorable Ending in Conclusion.
5. REQUIRED: Cite your sources outloud as you use their information during the speech. See weblog speaker posts for examples such as one we watched in class. ***NOTE: Not citing your sources can be seen as PLAGIARISM!
Have a great speech!
